With over 50 HRIS vendors featured in OutSail's HRIS Marketplace, initiating the selection process might seem daunting. Shortlisting emerges as a pivotal step, enabling you to curate a manageable list of vendors that stand out as interesting and promising based on your unique needs. This article guides you through efficiently shortlisting vendors on OutSail, ensuring you move forward with confidence in your HRIS selection journey.

Why Shortlist?

The essence of shortlisting is to streamline the decision-making process. By narrowing down the vast pool of vendors to a select few, you focus your attention and evaluation efforts on those most aligned with your organizational requirements, saving time and resources in the process.

How to Shortlist Vendors

Shortlisting on OutSail is designed to be intuitive, allowing you to mark your interest in vendors with ease:

  • Heart Button: To add a vendor to your shortlist, simply click the '❤️' button. This button is conveniently located on the Homepage/Heatmap screen beneath the vendor's name and logo. It's also available next to the vendor's name and logo in all views (Table View, Pros & Cons, Size Match & Scalability) and at the top right of the vendor profiles.

  • Limit: You can add up to 8 vendors to your shortlist. This number is optimized to ensure a broad enough selection for comparison while keeping the list focused and manageable.

Managing Your Shortlist

Once you've selected your shortlisted vendors, managing and refining your list is straightforward:

  • View Dropdown: Utilize the 'view' dropdown menu and toggle the 'Show Shortlist' filter. This action hides all vendors not on your shortlist, allowing you to concentrate on your chosen few.

  • Shortlist Workshop Call: Highly recommended is scheduling a shortlist workshop call with your OutSail advisor. This step is crucial for several reasons:

    • Discuss Your Shortlist: Share your shortlist with your advisor to get their insights and feedback based on extensive industry knowledge.

    • Gain Additional Insights: Your advisor can provide deeper insights into each shortlisted vendor, including aspects you might not have considered.

    • Get Questions Answered: Clarify any doubts or questions, ensuring you have all the information needed to refine your shortlist further.

After engaging with your OutSail advisor and armed with comprehensive insights, you're well-equipped to narrow down your list to 2-4 finalists. These finalists represent the vendors with whom you'll delve deeper, possibly scheduling demos or discussions to understand their offerings fully.

Shortlisting is more than just a step in the selection process; it's a strategic approach to making your HRIS vendor evaluation more efficient and focused.
